There was a time, not too long ago, when the Ganesh
festivities were limited to the Marathi people, or atleast mostly Marathi
people. That is changing, and how! More and more people from other communities
are bringing the elephant-lord home, decking up His temporary abode, and
celebrating His presence as boisterously as thier Marathi-speaking
counterparts.
Go to the ubiquitious "housing society" in Mumbai,
where there's usually a mix of ethnic backgrounds, and you will find |
